I am a fulltime female photographer based in South Wales (I have a mountain in the bottom of my garden) - i'm sorry but I am from Yorkshire and the Welsh landscape still blows me away after 25 years! Now having said that, when I am asked what sort of photography I do - PEOPLE! I absolutely love them - whilst a hall full of 300 seventeen year olds can be challenging as can a tired fractious 2 year old, turning that around, keeping things relaxed and most of all fun, is so rewarding especially at the oo and ah stage when pictures are received!
Each day I am out on location, my trusty (rather expensive) lights, backdrops, lenses, light metre, big hats, feathers, bubbles and a giant flask of tea are safely in the boot of my very cool PT Cruiser!
Naturally this is tailored to where I am booked, so if I am covering an office for their corporate images, then I might replace the bubbles with cakes! equally if it's a wedding then I would have spare stockings, hairspray, tissues, lipgloss, hip flask of brandy - just in case (for the mothers)!
In writing this, I really wanted to avoid the cliche words such as 'capture' 'memories' 'special' but you know , reflecting on the images people now have as canvases on their living room wall, - that is exactly what happens - just for that moment in time, during the fun, the banter (sometimes a bit of drama) whilst they are unaware PEOPLE are 'captured' their beautiful individual expressions have now become memories to show how special they are.
